The berths
Pier A and Pier B sit side by side at the end of the causeway, with a smaller berth used by expedition ships. Both main berths funnel into the same terminal building, so your walk ashore is roughly the same either way — a few minutes of pier, then the building, then the street. On the busiest days two large ships are alongside at once and the taxi rank saturates quickly.

Arrival day, step by step
- The ship clears with Canada Border Services; announcements follow. Expect 20–40 minutes between "all clear" and a walkable gangway on a big ship.
- Bring your cruise card and your passport, and note the all-aboard time exactly.
- Out of the building: right for taxis, shuttles, and tour pickups; left for the breakwater and the Dallas Road path into town.
- Work backwards from all-aboard, not forwards from now. Round-trip transport plus a 60-minute buffer is the honest starting budget.
The breakwater
The Ogden Point breakwater runs about 800 metres straight out from the pier — flat, paved, railed, and free. Twenty to thirty minutes round trip, with the Olympic Mountains ahead and your own ship behind you. It is the right answer for a very short or very late call.

Who is Ogden Point named after?
Ogden Point is generally understood to be named after Peter Skene Ogden, a 19th-century Hudson's Bay Company fur trader and explorer active in the Pacific Northwest. The point on the south side of Victoria's harbour later became the site of today's cruise terminal.
What is there to do right at the terminal?
The breakwater walk starts a few steps from the building, the Dallas Road waterfront path runs west from the gate, and the terminal itself has a cafe, washrooms, and Visitor Info staff. Everything else means heading into town.
