Ogden Point
Port guide
Everything you need to know between stepping off the gangway and heading out.
Terminal layout
Ogden Point has two berths (Pier A and Pier B) at the south end of Victoria's harbor. Both feed into the same terminal building with washrooms, a small gift shop, Wi-Fi, and Visitor Info staff during arrivals. Turn right out of the terminal for the taxi rank and shuttle pickup; turn left for the Breakwater walk.
Walk vs. taxi vs. pedicab
- Walk to Inner Harbour: ~25–30 minutes along Dallas Road. Flat, scenic, no hills to speak of.
- Taxi: CA$12–18 to downtown, 5–8 minutes. Card accepted; USD taken at driver's discretion.
- Pedicab: a Victoria classic. Metered by time, great for a short narrated ride into town.
- Shuttle: a paid downtown shuttle typically runs on cruise days from the terminal.
Within 10 minutes of the ship
- The Ogden Point Breakwater walk (right out of the terminal)
- Dallas Road waterfront path (west toward Beacon Hill Park)
- A small cafe and washrooms at the terminal building
Accessibility
The terminal building and Breakwater are wheelchair accessible. The Dallas Road path is paved and mostly flat. Downtown sidewalks are generally good but the Inner Harbour causeway has a few short ramps. Accessible taxis are available on request at the taxi rank.
Currency & tipping (for US visitors)
Canadian dollars are the local currency. Most shops accept US cards; change is given in CAD. Tipping matches US norms: 15–18% at restaurants, a dollar or two for taxi drivers and pedicabs.
